In this fifth wave of the trends research, Provoke Insights dives deep to understand how these new issues have impacted buying behaviors across fifteen categories. The study surveyed 1,500 Americans between the ages of 21 and 65 to see how consumer trends have evolved.

Consumers are in saving mode, using multiple techniques to reduce their spending. Brands need to be mindful of this budgeting behavior as fewer people are impulse-purchasing, and more are buying generic brands.
